2. Recognize Your Feelings

It’s long been known that bottling your feelings inside is never the right path to inner peace, but for some of us, it’s just the way our minds operate. When that’s the case, we have to fight that urge to keep it all inside. When we bury our feelings somewhere deep inside us, we lose the ability to accurately access our current situation. Maybe it is possible to think you’re way through to the other side, but if you push those feelings away, you’ll never know.

Some ways to let those feelings out? Talking to a friend not only allows us to get the release we need, but also have someone to bounce back new ideas and thoughts. If you’re more of an introvert, try writing everything down. Sometimes writing a letter addressed to ourselves forces us to deal with the situation directly and either solve it, or realize that we can’t control it and let it go.

Also, set goals to help you work through whatever it is you’re facing. Schedule time for yoga, or even just a few minutes of concentrated breathing; these things can go a long way to easing the tension we hold inside of us.
