3. Be Aware Of Your Body

Take stock of the effects of stress and emotions upon your body. When the tension or emotions heighten in any given situation, note what’s going on with your body so the next time these feeling arise, you’ll be better able to recognize them before they become full blown. If you’re jaw starts to twitch, or your breathing becomes shallow, you know that the situation is having a negative effect on your body, and stress like that can cause greater problems with your health and well-being. Your body is trying to tell you something, listen to it. Take a few deep breaths, and try to think calming thoughts. There is often a line we come to, and either we choose to walk up to it and stop, or we choose to step over it and escalate the situation.
