6. Find a Technique to Help You Let Go
Everyone should have their own way of letting go of stress and negative emotion. A popular technique is throwing a rock off of a cliff or into the water to denote throwing away that emotion or feeling. When you throw the rock, concentrate on the negative emotion it represents, and the feelings of toxicity it’s creating in your body. Then visualize all of the pain, stress and negative emotion being swept away with the rock. And don’t be afraid to share this technique with a friend; having somewhere there who understands the pain you’re going through can be therapeutic.
Don’t depend on others to make you happy, make yourself happy. When the storms of life are rising, choose to be your own healer and lay low until the storm subsides. Remember that when you fight the flow of the storm, it will consume you.
